FAQ - General Wax Questions

PRODUCTS AND WAXING QUESTIONS

Can The Chocolate Wax be applied to sensitive skin?
The Chocolate Wax is an all-natural wax and ideal for sensitive skin. This non-polymer formulation does not break hairs and instead, will capture the entire hair bulb in one pull. Fewer applications = less pain & skin irritations and happier customers!

Can The Chocolate Wax be applied to all areas of the body?
The Chocolate Wax formulation is ideal for face, underarms and bikini area. The reason why is is ideal for these body parts in because of drying time. The Chocolate Wax has faster drying time then The Honey Wax for example, which was formulated to be applied to larger areas such as chest and back.

Do you test on animals?
No. We do not do any animal testing of any kind. Ever.

Do your products contain animal-derived ingredients?
Our hard waxes do contain beeswax. All other ingredients are vegan. The Soy Soft Wax is 100% plant-based.

How do I remove wax from my equipment?
The Ultimate Wax Cleaner is our the cleaner that we use in our manufacturing facility. Is is incredibly effective to remove wax residue. Not to be used in skin of course, but amazing on floors and equipment.

What is all this polymer talk? What does it mean to be polymer free?
Think hot glue. Ethylene Vinyl Acetate, aka EVA, is the common ingredient in polymer waxes, which is low cost and can provide stability to wax formulations. However, it also raises the temperature of the wax and once dry, EVA is what gives a wax that "plasticky" feeling.  Therefore even though a polymer wax may seem flexible, it tends to not have much give, which essentially contributes to the hair breaking off instead of grabbing the whole hair bulb. A polymer free wax will offer more flexibility and do a much better job of removing the hair from the root - every time. Plus, a polymer free wax will have a lower application temperature and will be more gentle on the skin.

All of our waxes are polymer-free!

Will the wax pick up all the little hairs on the body?
Yes. The Chocolate Wax, The Honey Wax, and The Nude Wax are both exceptional at removing vellus hairs.

How much wax is needed for a Brazilian?
Depends on the client and technique, of course. You would use a lot more wax on a first timer then you would on a regular customer. With that said, we'd say an average of 3 to 6 oz per Brazilian is well within the norm.
